Kelly is a go-getter. She’s ranked as the “Top One Percent” of real estate agents nationwide. Last year she was ranked #1 in the region in sales volume. Her team has won the Award for Excellence for Real Estate Services from Barbara Corcoran for the last three years. She also received The Wall Street Journal Real Trends Top 250 Award in 2014.
But that’s not why we want to tell her story.
Five years ago, Kelly’s business was thriving – unfortunately, life doesn’t wait for business. In July 2010, Kelly fought the hardest fight of her life. A mysterious illness attacked her organs, and left her in a coma on life support. Ninety days passed and her family was told to say their goodbyes.
But Kelly’s a fighter. She woke up, barely able to see, speak or walk. Her mental capacity was almost non- existent. The hardships during these months were unimaginable – and made worse by her husband asking her for a divorce the first day she was out of the ICU, leaving her as a single mom with a 3-year-old son.
Kelly’s friends and family were appalled. But, again, Kelly was stronger than anyone expected her to be. She battled through extensive therapy and recovered. Now she’s a single mother, a survivor and a CEO of two successful corporations, the Kelly Hager Group Real Estate Services and the Live Team Life business-consulting corporation. Her motivation? She couldn’t give up because her son needed a mother. Since recovering, Kelly has worked to build her life, her son’s life, her businesses and use them as tools to inspire others to challenge themselves, achieve their goals, expand their horizons and give back. She has inspired friends, family and neighbors to help more than 750 children and their families through organizations like Friends of Kids with Cancer.
